LC Screens

jbj,

I am still very happy with the screen. I am just over 6 foot and in its highest position, I
can see over it all the time. I don't like looking through screens.

Airflow is much smoother. It is narrower than the screen on my old twin cam so your arms
catch a bit more windblast.

I went for the slightly smoked version because they were available immediately, I would
normally go for clear but they were to order only.

It does move a little at speed but not as much as the standard screen and doesn't need
the supports that some of the larger screen need, and can therefore be adjusted on
the move.

Hope this helps.

Hi Phillh,

thanks for the quick reply, screen ordered !!
Interesting to read your thoughts on the screen "wobble" was expecting it to be much worse.

Thanks again

John,

I've also just fitted the standard MRA Vario Touring screen on my 2015 GS. With the flap raised, it's 4-5cm higher than the standard screen, which isn't quite as much as I was expecting. I do think it's an improvement on the standard screen though, the airflow does seem smoother.

I'm 6'4" so it's not tall enough to provide complete shelter for me. I've noticed that MRA also make an "X-Creen" version that's up to 11cm taller, so that might have been a better option for me, although I'm sure that would also need the extra support brackets.

I'm going to stick with the one I've got for now, but might consider getting a taller one in future. It'd be great if Givi did an AF-330 equivalent for the GS LC, but I asked them and they don't seem to have any plans to make one.

For what it's worth; I went with the X creen variant and have no problems with excessive screen shake. Bike is '16 GSA. I'm about 6' 1" and find the screen to be an improvement over the standard one. Although it's not such a dramatic improvement as the standard MRA Vario was to my XR. Cheers.
