Recently acquired 1988 R100GS "Bumblebee" is leaking fuel from high on the tank next to the from mounting bracket. The leak appears to be at the base of the mounting bracket to tank interface.
I anticipate soldering a pool of lead to cover the area in question and then treating the inside of the tank with etch, prep and sealant. The product POR 15 is highly spoken of with automotive restoration types. Kreem seems to be popular with MC types. I'm leaning towards POR 15 for the internals and Kreem to protect the exterior paint.
Anyone had any experience on this topic?
Also: What problems with moisture have you experienced with stock plug leads and caps? I'm looking for replacements that are waterproof.
Thanks in advance from a newbie.
