Leather Pants...

... They're a new version of the old PSR Pants, they've now got the added (removable) bib and a £30 price hike

... I have used the non-bib originals for over two years home and abroad and they're made of heavy weight hide, tough as nails, have good knee armour (add your own hip-pads ... erm, if you're hip :blast), they're comfy once broken in and pretty water resistent if you keep 'em greased up.

... How good? ... So good that I bought and have stored the last pair in my size in the country when they were discontinued ... erm, and discounted :D

The only thing which peeves me about HG stuff is that they refuse to admit that anyone has longer than a 32" inside leg - that's the longest they do. I have some textile 'Journey' pants and I think they're great, but they are only just long enough (I've a 33" leg) - another 2" on the trouser leg would be perfect to allow for ride-up when sitting.

Not sure if this applies to the leather pants too? - Of course it might not be an issue if your legs are HG sized ;)

lovely

Had a pair of these for 2 years now and rate them as my best motorcycle related purchase ever!
Excellent fit, style is a bit different ,protective leather without the race track refugee or born to be mild look. Over boot style protects paintwork from my tech 3s and SMX plus. work well with the TFL cool jacket or textile.
Going to buy some more soon.

leather pants

Go for it. They are top kit.

I'm over 6ft 4inches and HG in Braintree did me a pair for £100 - after much ludicrous dancing about in the store trying various pairs on. Plenty of leg length for me.

They are made out of bison hide or some such - incredibly thick leather - which gives total confidence. Full armour etc and even though the leather is so thick they are comfy.

They are heavy though if you need to change into a suit at the end of the ride and carry them around.

Good in light showers though I carry a set of rainproof trousers (got an HG textile jacket for top half) in case it hoses down.

:moped:

Thanks i really appreciate the feedback i'm gonna go for these then.

Inside leg should be ok i'm only just over 6 foot and don't have an exceptionally long leg and i carry a 2-peice waterproof set with me for those typical brittish summer days. Speaking of Summer, sorry to dissapoint you but i can always try to pose in the pants when i get them but i can't guarantee the chippendales will be out of business anytime soon :D

Craig.

Is the TFL system working as advertised or is just a gimmick . Is suppose to keep you cool in the summer...BMW has some textiles with the same feature.

Difficult to say on the TFL as i sweat like a farm yard animal all year round!
However I have kept the lining in my TFL jacket all year and used the zips to vent and find it tolerable. The leather on the jacket has worn at movement points and appears to have lost its "colour" so i am unsure how robust these coatings are

Just to let you know i bought a pair today and i really like them...

Very comfortable, a lot more so than regular pants coz of the bib section. Had to get the largest pair they did :augie but got in them :D

As for the TFL, i only rode home, about 20 miles or so and it wasn't ultra-sunny so i'm not sure yet.

Thanks for the advice, great buy :thumb2
