I installed a Nippy Norman's LED tail/brake light unit on my 1200GS back in Feb 2006. Apart from the odd LAMPR fault on starting (corrected by switching off and re-starting) it's worked perfectly.

However, just recently I've started getting LAMPRs every time I use the rear brake. The unit is working perfectly and nothing else has been changed.

Any suggestions please?

I had this with mine too. It was working fine, but the back part of the light housing (which is open to the elements) had started to corrode. I put it down to a drop in the conductivity causing the warning.

I took the rear light housing off, cleaned it all up and coated it with silicone rubber - it was fine afterwards.

HTH,
David.

I had this when I first fitted it. I found the contacts needed bending a little to make a firm contact. No probs since.

Thanks guys, I'll give these ideas a try and let you know how I get on.

Hi, I just got a led tail light as well to put on my bike, do I need any additional parts for it?

Cleaned everything and bent the contacts slightly, all back to 'normal'. Mazny thanks!

If it's like the ones that Nippy Normal sells then no, it's a straight replacement. Can't comment on other brands but I imagine they'd be the same.

Can't really say then, as aftermarket ones like my Nippy Norman's are designed to fit an ordinary bulbholder and if yours is OM its base may be different. If its base looks like it's designed for a bulb holder, try it and see; if it's different as long as you don't use excessive force you shouldn't do any harm and you'll have tod ecide whether to buy a new rear light housing or try to modify the parts you have.

Good luck!
