Sorry if this has covered before.
I want to fit a set of spotlights on my GS, leaning towards LED's as they draw less current, not sure how reliable they are long term though. Looking to keep them as small as poss as well. Would be interested to hear what others have gone for?
Anyone got any recommendations?

What will you use them for? Daytime visibility or nightime power/distance?

Having had the standard spots on my GSA, I've opted for and am pleased with the LEDs which save the bother of upgrading to HIDs.

Mainly daytime visibility.
Not yet ridden the GS in the dark tho being fairly new to it. Bit unsure as heard a lot about how crap the headlights are at night so may upgrade to HID's in the headlights for better nightime riding.

Your question is for fog lights or daytime running lights.

I have LED spots, they kick the arse out of the HIDs, although I have HIDs also :D

For drls any half decent LED will do the job. LEDs are by far the most reliable of all lights. Next to no heat and small power consumption and a whiter light. It's a no brainer :thumb2

Looking at all the various replies it appears the general consensus is 'if the battery is below par' the HID lights will not fire up. I bought a set from HID city and worked well when first fitted . When I went away for a weekend sometimes they would fire up and other occasions not so I kept looking for the bulb fail light on the dash. Sometimes switching off and restarting would get the lights working.

I have taken the system off and refitted so as to ensure a good connection but still had the problem. Looks like a new battery is on the cards
