My Mono's getting tired. The rear shocks had it. Wheel rims have small cracks in them round the spoke holes. Seats bollixed and the barrels have worn out so it's time for a refurb. I can't decide whether to keep it as it is or go to town a bit.

I really like the look of this bike

Mines not too bad either if you squint and look out the corner of your eye :D

I've just ordered a Wilbers rear shock (£350 delivered). A Siebenrock 1000cc kit may be on the cards as well  Wheels need shipping off to our local wheel man.

What do you think guys? keep it as it is and give it a tidy up or go for something a little more radical?

Spend,spend,spend........you know you want to.........:clap

It looks pretty good as it is, so why change the overall look ??

Just refurbish it, up the capacity and get out and use it.

Are you thinking of making more extreme use of it and therefore need better long-travel forks more rear articulation and lighter overall ???

If not, why cut it up ?

Bob.

OK, IMHO...... :augie

Black rims - nice, look good, give the wheels a more chunky look :thumb2

Fork brace :thumb2

Side panels - never understood why owners fit them with the single seat, the gap between looks wrong

Engine bars and big foot side stand :thumb2

Rack, pannier frames and single seat - very useful for lugging tents and shit to GSer weekends and better fit to big tank - :thumb2 (I think I have a spare rack...)

Black exhaust - alright, very original and all that bollocks , but I prefer the stainless item on yours

Matching seat rack and engine bars - :ymca

Dead cat on the seat - :ymca

Swirly BMW badge on tank - :ymca

White screen on black headlight unit - wrong, "couldn't find the right colour then mister?"

Are you thinking of changing the frame colour from that blue? Would be a shame, yours looks good with a simple white tank.

Siebenrock kit - :thumb2

HTH :beerjug:

Yep pretty spot on. :thumb2

Looks good Rob..swop dull dark blue cosmetics for the gay white ones if you wish ! :D

I'm about to hack mine over winter......so, Rob, where did that single seat/rack come from...my side panels may well be going as well (new exhaust tad to wide to have them fitted ) or cut them down etc.

Round rocker covers were just about to be ordered but uncle VERN reckons the square pots look better !!

So need that single seat and a nose fairing etc...and maybe contact ( not moto-bins anymore ) the bigger boys about a sienbenrock kit ( just to keep up with the Farmer neighbours etc)

:thumb2

Ditch it! I'm trying to bring myself to spend the £180 BMW want for a speedo :(
Suppose I will have a KPH IMO to flog afterwards.
