light bar

I hate piss on your bonfire, but that is zero cool :)

The bar is going to scratch the fork legs.
You need to curve it forward.

And aluminium is not strong enough.
It will break at the folds in a pretty short while.

My light bars are made of 4mm stainless steel.
Stainless is approximately 3x stronger than aluminium.

So you would need about 12mm thickness to have it strong enough in aluminium.
And 12mm aluminium won't bend properly. Hence the use of stainless

Cheers,
Michel

Im not genius with this stuff but it seems strong enough at the moment. If it weakens over time ill swallow my pride and get your Migsel one.

Ive checked clearances and its well clear of the forks.

I don't mind if you make your own mate, as long as you don't copy mine to sell it's fine.

I'm just sharing my experience, 4 mm aluminium will not work unless you mount super light LED things or so.

And straigt with that width, does mean it can scratch the forks at full lock and compression. Been there, seen that. And then made the bars curved.

Good luck,
Michel

If you knew how long it took me to make the one I did then you would know its definetly not a profit business.

Ive laquered it and it looks and feels the business. Lets hope it holds.

Ive ground out a area to match the area on the GS allocated for the yokes turn so it should be clear by far. Appreciate the mention though Yoss!!! :thumb2

BTW, Centech is fitted and working wonders, full power cabling to it is HUGE!!! Took some wiring!
