I want to mount a couple of Halfords finest budget lights on my 1" dia engine bars, but can not locate clamps for same. Some guy in the states is selling very fancy machined ally ones that would cost the same as four sets of lights by the time I had got them here, and today I am being mostly cheap!

Any ideas?

Give Bakerman a shout and see if he's got any bits left in his meccano set!!! Chortle, chortle, chortle!!!!!!

Clamps

Ask a ships chandler to make some 'P' clamps. IIRC I was quoted approx £3 each for aluminium clamps to fit the 24mm tube on my H+B bars.

It need not be a pucker ships chandler, the place that I got the quote from is really just a basic sailing and skiing shop - not one of your 'airs and graces' yachting place.

BTW it's near Sevenoaks, Kent if that's near you.

From a chandlers, one that deals with yachts not dinghies ask for the clamps that fastenfittings to the guard rail stantions or the push/pull pit. They are stainless and should have a variety of holes for mounting your lamps.

Is there a vibration problem when mounting lamps to crash bars?
