Has anyone fitted spots directly to the beak or to the Adv stnd crash bars.

Would appreciate some feedback, as my Piaa spots have just arrived this morning & I'm too miserable to buy a Misgel light bar......cheers!

I have my spots on the bars, they are H&B though, I got a set of handguards and used the brackets, the set was only £5 more than just the brackets and I have some spare guards, I then made two right angle mounts from a discarded aluminium toilet roll holder, the shape was just right and then bolted the lights to this, works like a charm and the lower mount point lets the spots fill in a bit more as well as reaching out.

Some folks say the vibration will break the filaments in the lamps but that has not been my experience, theyv'e been on for over 6 months, this is a solid way of mounting them.

You might want to try [email protected].

07932 385578 Oil Cooler & light bar

Iv'e seen the oil cooler grill and its first class, he may be working on a light bar, he's in Leicester.

You could use these from Micatech

for only $129 :D

I haven't seen them in the flesh, but they look like good quality stuff.

Cheers,
Michel

I fitted my cheapo Halfords lights to the crash bars (dunno what the bars are they came with the bike).
Rather than spend $100+ on brackets. I cut down the light mounting plate, bashed it curved and used a couple of old jubilee clips to hold them on the bars.
I little bit of my daughter's black poster paint and a quality job....
:hammer

I'll try and post a piccie later.

Its clear

I think you will agree, this picture clearly shows that I have had too many gin and tonics..

Ram Mount

Had the same problem but was not prepared to pay the rip off prices quoted by these so called biker friendly companies. Cheap solution is to buy a couple of small RAM mounts, can't remember how much they cost but seem to think it was around £40 for the pair. All the flexibility you need to set up the lights to suit. Follow this link RAM and type RAM in the search field.

mount for lights...

First post here... amazing how between the USA forum and yours the questions are different... just another addiction now I guess... will have to find that extra time now!
I mounted 2 sets of Hellas on H&B engine guards (lower ones), one set for straights and one set for the mountain twisties to keep a straight beam when the bike is leaning (the lights are pointed "up"). I used BMW parts that are made for old airhead's fairing mounted on frame... I lost the numbers but could get them if anyone needed them... a llittle hole also has been drilled for a stop screw (metal sheet) so the clamp does not move at all (pictures). As far as the rubber pieces, if I had to do it over I would just use some black hose as you need to use 2 rubber pieces for one mount.:)
OK... I JUST REALIZED the format here is different... HOW would you post pictures!!! Oh! I think I see it... NOP... no go... please direct me to post those pictures from my "documents"...
Be well and... Thanks...

When you reply at the bottom of the page theres an "ATTACH FILE" section, click browse and spend an hour searching your files for the image you want :P

No problem... Thanks for the input, will take care of the dues... only fair... I always wondered why our "USA" www.advrider.com site was based on donations only...
Be well...
