Llama Run 3 - Revenge of the treadless wonders

I'm really sorry to do this at the last moment lads, but it looks like I will have to call off the run at the weekend.

Elderly (and ill) parents mean that me and the wife have been tied to the house for the last few days. I was hoping that things would improve for the weekend but it doesn't look as if it will.

So I'm afraid I will be parent-sitting on Sunday. I will try and sort out another date and let you know.

I was planning to do the 'fords and woods' run (as per October) in reverse. If someone has a garmin sat-nav I will post the route if you guys would still like to do it.

Once again I'm sorry to let you down.

Ralph

If there's enough of you interested I'll load up the route and carry the torch. Though it'll probably go out at the first ford.

Pearcy

I still have a day-out pass (or at least morning till early afternoon pass) so I would be up for a ride...
Thanks for picking up the pieces Piercy!

i am still in if some one can load up the maps. just post time and place and will see you there. would hate to spend Sunday with family after getting out for the day. sorry to here that Ralph, your new TKC will have to see some mud next time, may be on the week end run in August ? :thumb

Ralph sorry about your family problems, hope they resolve themselves for the better soon.

I have your routes from your first run but because I had to work at the last minute I could not make it.
Which route did you use?

Much appreciation for the effort you put in sorting these routes.

Once I know the route I'll post a time and place for Sunday if we get 4 or more.

Pearcy

Thanks for offering to take the batton Pearcy.

I have attached the route I was going to follow. It is a slight mod from the first run, adding in a few more forest tracks at the Norwich end and finishing at the McDonalds @ Norwich Airport

I was planning to run the route oposite to last time (ie. starting at the airport) so that if (when) people did get wet, they did it at the end rather than the begining. But I haven't got round to changing it as yet and knowing how mapsource recalculates everything this may not be so straightforward.

Hope you have a good day.

Ralph

Thanks Llama

I've got the route, I especially like the end point 2 miles from home!

OK for those who are interested the start will be at the Q8 services on the Norwich end of the A47 Swaffham bypass 10:00 Sunday, the finish is 68 miles away at Norwich Airport or the last man standing.

Who's coming?

Pearcy

Um, can't decide!
Maybe.
Should I?
Shouldn't I?
I used to be indecisive but I'm alright nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Come on someone talk me into it!
Mike.

OK Ray,
I will if it's dry, as I'm still on tourances, bearing in mind my last attempt at wet green laning on tourances.
I also have to get a pass (but I have a day to work on that).

Oh and I have just noticed that if you join waypoint 202 to 219, taking out the one in between, the route goes right past my house, so even if I dont go, all will be welcome for a tea stop.
Mike.

Hi Pearcy
Is that where we met last year?
I am planning on coming, the forecast is OK as Sunday goes on but there may be a bit of rain tonight.
You'll be fine on yer Tourances Mike so try & make it - having seen Pearcy ride on our Thetford offroad outing the other day, I need another "relatively inexperienced offroad rider" like you there as moral support! :rob :thumb
Cheers

As I missed last year I can't be sure where you met, but the route starts at the same point so if you gathered at the services then yes it is.
As for moral support and experience that last time was my first off-road on the GS and the first for a lot of years.

Looks like we have a 5 ball then.

I'm in.
I have a very very reluctant half day pass.
Am suffering now, almost 7pm, no sign of any grub.
I was thinking about asking Caroline if she could sort out some bacon sarnies for some hungry bikers. What do you think?
See you there.
M

I'm sure I could supply some hungry bikers if you can guide me in!

pearcy

I am in - see you there!
that is if I can find where you are planning to meet.
If anybody leaving from Chelmsford area please call me tomorrow morning on 07711033308 so we can rice up together!
Cheers

Hi pearcy - just looked at the map and noticed the start is about 90 miles away from home....in doubt now....the last time we started from Diss which was a bit more convenient!
As I need to be back by 2 pm and we do not plan to start till 10 I doubt it is worth the trip!
Will confirm by 8 am tomorrow.
Cheers

no replies so unfortunatly I am bailing out, unless the route comes further south west where i can join....sorry!!
