I replied yesterday as had phone switched off all day. Didn't have your number stored..?

Arrived at 3.30am and got a couple hours kip. Day was excellent and made me comfortable with the DRZ, which can really rip offroad :D, met some familiar faces etc.

But, my Canon 350D departed from the bike somewhere on route :( :tears :( :tears as the cargo net wasn't enough. Turns out I can't claim it on house insurance either.

By the end of the day I was totally knackered - no way I was staying up for the beer festivities, so I drove home for a good nights kip.

Obviously I'd show you the wonderful pictures if I could  . I'm hoping somebody will pick it up and hand it in, and that the police will look at the photo's and track me down / do a numberplate check. :tears :tears

Shit happens I guess and I won't let it spoil a great day.

Right at the end I did the "altabady" pass or something, the one which the HP2 bottled :eek, and am flying down pretty much unable to stop :nono when 'twang' the wheel hits something and bike stops dead. Over me goes! (only cut leg). :D

Feck me Snoopy, you rode back last night:eek
At least you will have missed the rain. Bad news with the camera but glad it didn't totally spoil your day.
Ps. Tesco bags are a little thicker than the Sainsbury ones but it may be worth paying for a nice thick Lidl one in Future:thumb
Good luck with the summer trip and nice to have met you.
Regards

 You're a glutton for punishment Snoop!

There and back in 24 hours, including a trail-ride :bow

Had a chuckle at your reply to my "Are you there yet?" texts:

"Yes. Who are you?" :D

Shame about the camera - I did similar with a Pentax zoom-compact. It was in a waterproof case, so it's probably still lying in the bracken somewhere up on the hills, north of Alwinton....:o

Snoopy,

Do you have travel insurance? It might cover the Canon.

Seems I might be covered after all. Anyone ever claimed for a camera? I may have to say I was hill walking when it fell off, got dark, retraced route but no joy. How does that sound?

Luckily i've still got the receipt too.
