Been looking for somewhere these my be recorded for my area (Oxfordshire/Wiltshire/Glocs) and don't seem to be able to find anywhere with a reliable list. Can anyone recommend a website that might help please? Would be great if it said things like "Trail for useless novices on massive motorcycles to learn on whilst making a gigantic tit of themselves"
In the meantime I've take the GSA up a couple of bits of the Ridgeway - first GS, no off-road experience, not entirely clear whether I can pick it up, 5' 9" - what could possibly go wrong... :augie and really enjoyed it. Learnt VERY quickly about off-road three point turns though...lots of throttle, aim, go, don't piss about. :thumb

Expect the piss to be taken...............you're on huge motorcycle, in their eyes

Other than that get down to the Highways dept of your local council and research it yourself

It's not on the internet:blast

Once you have joined the TRF, access to www.trailwise.org.uk is permitted and then that is the easiest method of stringing a ride together using the legal trails.

Timpo - that's fantastic, thanks. Will have a plough through that this morning and that meeting's a short ride from where I live.
As for piss taking - I'll get it, deservedly, for having a GSA and no off-road skills but I suspect it'll be friendly. :thumb

You may want to look in the Thames Valley thread and see our monthly meetings. Next one is (should be) on 20th. You may get some help for your quest.

What..... in who's eyes?:nenau
Pumpy writes the Oxford TRF's bulletins, she rides an 1150GS on the trails......and a blue DRZ

Fixed it for you:thumb

Perhaps that may be so..................here in Yorkshire, I doubt they'd take you out

They view the XChallenge as unwieldy and unworthy of a TRF rideout here..........depends on the rider though;)

Thanks for that - I will do. I'm SW Oxon so sort of between Oxford and Swindon, which means both are close to me.

Legal rights of way are available online as you've found. There's a thread here which lists some of the counties definitive maps. :thumb2
