Hi All, my newly acquired (2015 model) bike is due it's next service. It's out of warranty but I would like to keep the service history going. Is there a list of BMW authorised agents who can do this work for me with me having to use main BMW motorad dealers? I am in South East Kent CT post code. Thanks

I know it's not exactly what you were looking for but there's a guy in Bromley. Kent who has a great reputation on BMWs and has done for years. If you are interested, let me know and I'll dig out his details etc. I will be using him when my warranty expires. I am obviously aware that Canterbury is a long way from Bromley, but in the absence of anyone else......?.

Hi russm, I live in Herne Bay and had the same issue until I found Moto Works in Sittingbourne. They are a Triumph/BMW specialist and very good too also very reasonable 01795 844899.

Have you checked how much it will cost to have it serviced at a BMW dealer??. Guess price is the reason why you don't want to use an authorized BMW dealer??.
Depends what price you are expecting but may be worth considering for the added peace of mind, especially as you've just bought it.
From my experience it's about £140 for the small annual service and £240 for the larger service (with brake fluid change etc.)
You'll probably also be able to have a loan bike while it's being done at a small cost for insurance (£15). They should always tell you what it's going to cost for the work before hand so worth asking.

Hi All, thanks for all your replies. I think my nearest motorad is seven oaks so 50 odds miles from Thanet. Will ask about their prices before deciding on which way to go!

BMW Cooper Motorrad Tunbridge Wells,. According to google

I was there this morning, for the running-in service on my replacement engine. They asked me to pay for the service. Ultimately, the dealership overall service manager agreed that a required running-in service for a warranty replacement engine was part of the claim. He said engines they replaced in M cars got their required running-in service as part of the claim. I didn't have to pay, which was my experience with my previous replacement engine (paint problem on earlier bike).

Just been in touch with BMW TW and the service will be £424.16 includes all oil changes and brake fluids as well as various other adjustments. Still mulling over!

It's worth asking what exactly it will cover as some independants may not be aware that some major services might have to include camshaft alignment as well as valve clearances, so at least with a main dealer, you should be getting a decent standard of servicing. It might also be worth undertaking the minor services yourself (oil/filter changes and air filter plus valve clearance checks if needed). Compared with many other bikes today, it's all pretty accessible.
