which is the best bet for a quarter?

nipped over yesterday with the wife and dog and had a look at bad lipp (are they flats or houses?)

sennelager (art str dont look too good, ring not too bad)

so any guide? am applying for a C cat 3 bed with a garden for the pooch

Best area to go for is Paderborn area, preferrably Uhland Str, Raabe Str, Satty Weg, Piepenturmweg (new builds, Macca2321 and I live there) and I think thats that. You are in the right place there for work and there are creches pre-schools and a primary school. Uhland Str has flats and houses.

Further to that post, we got Adanauer strasse in detmold, a 3 bed 3rd floor flat

just what we need with a hyperactive dog and a 4 month old boy

one is not amused, i think we'll be putting in for a move at some point!!

on the plus side my new LTA is 14 dec, so will be in for chrimbo

Sounds like the normal housing office for you, at least you won't have to work when the snow hits, no chance of getting in from Detmold. They offered me Detmold but I refused saying I had no transport (the missus uses the car for work). Didn't go down to well but got a quarter in Sennelager instead.

yeah, the prob we have is that we will both be working in barker, so we cant use that one, problem we are going to have is getting our lad into creche, we have a spot at alanbrooke reserved, but i foresee problems with work timings and creche timings, not to mention leaving the dog in a 3rd floor flat all day on his tod.

not the DHE's finest hour in my eyes, problem is that its all a bit short notice, she only got her confirmed posting order on monday, due to start on 27th

You have got to dig your heels in and tell them that a flat or house in Detmold is just not good enough with you both serving. Stop being a tosser and get on the phone and give them shit.
Speaking from experience those who kick off nowadays usually get what they want.
It may upset the applecart, but you will be there for 3 yrs at least. Getting a move once you're in will be very difficult, so f*ck them off now. Get both families offices fighting for you as well.

They ain't short of MQ's they just don't don't like giving the new ones in Paderborn out if they can get away with sticking someone in a flat in Detmold, as Short says kick off, whats the worst that can happen, I refused a quarter so am pretty much on there sh*t list now but it's three years of commuting 40mins each way, f*ck that, throw in early morning PT and the rest of the crap and you'll soon be sick of it.
As for sandy place, really enjoyed Baghdad (a very surreal place! one minute your at a pool party at the Brit Embassy , the next they're chucking Chineese rockets at you, inconsiderate tw*ts ), Basra was just crap (back with parent unit )
