Hi,
I am starting a new thread on this as things change rapidly with Insurers.
I am with e-bike and after an address change, I noticed the Underwriter had changed. At the same time they only offer one month per trip in Europe, albeit giving a total of 365 per year.
No good to anyone!

Does anyone know of a UK insurer who offers over 3 months per trip- like spending a winter or summer in Europe fully comp.
I am wary of going to a EU Insurer as if it all goes wrong, they could be a 6 year old in Prague!

I have posted on HU as well, so if they or UKGSER don't know it probably cannot be done.

Thanks in advance.
As I said, these things change, so I am looking at someone who has done this recently.

I see from your profile that you are 'retired'. We have some English friends who have a holiday home here in France and, until recently*, they used to insure their car with Saga! I don't know whether Saga will do bike cover, but they were almost unique amongst British car insurers in that they had no limit on length of stay in Europe. Might be worth a call.

(*they've now re-registered the car in France)

I too have noticed that insuresrs are changing the T&C's of the policies to limit their exposure. A few Irish guys I know leave their bikes in Spain. But in the event of a claim being made the insurer (Adelaide or Carol Nash) will look for proof of the outbound journey. If everything is not in order then the policy is void and you are in the sh*t.

Quite so.
And in this age of trails of credit cards, ATMs, ANPR, post 911, if it does go pear shaped, it is worthwhile from the Insurer's point of view of digging.
Also, I think it is as you say, getting more difficult.

Was insured with E-bike as they give 365 days outside UK until April this year when the renewal quote doubled to over £900. They could give me no explanation other than they were only passing on underwriters' increases. Got same cover (365 days outside of UK )from Carol Nash for half. Surprised to find out it was the same underwriter as the previous E-bike policy

Let me just say that I am less than impressed by E-bikes honesty. Worth you giving CN a ring. Saga expensive and best was 90 days outside UK

Hi Jeff,
Have to agree with your comment on honesty about e-bike. Sad comment but true.
Oddly, just sent off an enquiry to CN, so fingers crossed they will come through.
Will post on the thread as to how this unfolds.
Many thanks.
