I rode from Abingdon to Glen Moidart and back for 2 cups of tea with my mate Bill.

I only took one photo - here it is:

1100 miles in just over 2 days is not particularly hard core, but I did learn some things:

1 - Aerostich is great but the pockets leak.
2 - Glen Coe is superb in the early morning, downright dangerous in the afternoon.
3 - When the sun shines in Scotland there are few places to beat it for breathtaking scenery and fantastic roads.
4 - Ride early in the mornings.
5 - I need an MP3 player. I shall be seeking advice in a separate thread, but only after I have performed an appropriate forum search and carefully analysed the results

So there.

AFAICR, the outside pockets are not made to be waterproof. Isn't there something about filling the pockets with ice in hot weather, which keeps you cool, and the melt water doesn't get you wet as it's outside the suit? :nenau
Not that I have ever tried it, but I do keep everything except keys and change inside the suit.

To be fair, you are right that the outside pockets aren't supposed to be waterproof, but I forgot and found out the hard way ...

The inside was very waterproof, warm, comfy and super-duper. It really does make a big difference having good gear on a long run.

I only took one photo...

What? No photo of Bill's new residence? I'm a bit disappointed, Simon... :(

How am I supposed to find the place in August? :nenau

Well, hope Bill was pleased to see you and you had a good time at least. How is the Master of the Green Lane coping without trail riding?

I was too busy drinking tea, bdrinking in the atmosphere and helpinghim fix his argocat. Fantastic place though.

I have full Garmin instructions, route and advice!

He was. His eldest daughter has made it as far as the road goes on her new 50cc Yam. He's just got the KTM MoT'd and is planning to try it out on the tracks. It's a fantastic spot, but he's got loads of work to do ....

I had a great ride up and back. high point was 110 thru Glencoe, early in the morning, dicing with a 1986 Porsche 911 and nothing else on the road. Beautiful sunshine, glorious scenery. Far too nice to stop and take photos!

argocat

argocat : These were serious fun.. you dont need an organge thing when you got one of these and the space/terrain to play with it..lol..

Sounds like a nice trip Nin..

Hi Rocks!

How's business?

Yes it was a great trip - Motorway was dull but good preparation for a longer trip planned for the summer. The early morning roads in Scotland were just dream: empty, dry (!) and in beautiful scenery. I'm not sure why I don't live up that way!

Argocats are good fun - amazing what you can do with some baloon tyres, a lawnmower engine and Canuck ingenuity ...
