Looking at this as my first off road machine. Any good??

I had an early one, kickstart & it was the most unreliable piece of shite to start ever - hot or cold..................so make sure the battery is good

Usual Suzuki build quality, everything corroded and seized on it

I'm sure the passage of time hasn't helped

Luckily it got nicked and with the insurance I bought a new Honda XR, which were flawless in comparison

Just to balance up, the equation

Make sure you've been to Specsavers when you view it

I thought it was just me but obviously there must be a major flaw in there design. Good luck to any fool they may end up with

The Honda XR was 10 times the bike the DR350 was, even the earlier RFVC XR250's and then when the dry sump XR250/XR400 came in 1996.................well the game moved on, a fair pace

Pity that Honda never put the electric start on the 400's despite this..... they still sold 10 XR400's to every DR350.............I reckon

Look how many XR400's are for sale, compared to DR350's .................on ebay

Don't be frightened about kickstarts, once the bike is set up they're not too bad

The Honda build quality is league's ahead of the Suzukis - just look at some early DRZ400's, say 2001 and 2002 and then see a similar mileage XR400 and that build/finish differences speaks volumes

I was lucky with mine as I managed to unload it before it started costing me too much time and money in keeping it running. Managed to find a gullible fool near Liverpool who took it off my hands.
