There’s nothing handier in the workshop than a vice, I’ve used the same one now for well over 30 years and just take it for granted, but I’d be lost without it.

Likewise Ebbo , I still use the same heavy duty vice installed some 30 years . I wouldn`t recommend a clamp on vice as the main vice , ok for small jobs though .
