Loose panniers

Anybody else got a problem with loose panniers on their RT? On my '11 plate I can move the panniers up and down by about 20mm which seems a bit excessive and there doesn't appear to be a way to adjust them.

Not on my '12 model, although the top box rattles about quite a bit.

Mine are firmly fixed but still have a little movement - not 20mm

The panniers on my 2012 move up and down quite a bit but only if pull and push them which I don't normally do (or didn't untill I read this bloody post) but they don't rattle when the bikes moving and they ain't going to fall off so not a problem then.

mine move a little on my 2011 but again not 20mm, let the dealer have a look ASAP, if they say they are ok and they then fall off it's down to them

There's a kit of different sized spacers you can get from the BMW dealers, they fit on the plunger that locates on the underside. Helps a bit.

I made some pads from 1mm Neoprene and stuck them onto the "plungers" to alleviate "slight" looseness, nowhere near 20mm though.

Sorted the problem by drilling and tapping the underside where the plunger pushes up and fitted small bolts so I can now adjust to get rid of the movement.
