i once found an exposed roll of film in a mountain region of europe....got it processed in the hope a pic on it would help locate the owner...nope.

Lots of digital cameras add informnation to the JPG files they save. Typically it's things like camera model, date & time, exposure settings and so on. Looking at the pictures with the right software would allow that metadata to be read and might tell you the camera type which could narrow it down a bit. Long shot mind!

Some cameras including my Nikon has the ability to add some personal equipment and although I choose not too put something sensible like my postcode which might be able to be read by anyone looking at my photos I have instead added a website address which means I am contactable even if its a little long winded.
