Low Seat

SWMBO is taking her test at last and wants a F650 GS .

They have a nice shiny new one in Ocean with a factory low seat "kit". Big bucks though.

I have searched but cannot find anything but if we buy a second hand F 650 GS without the low seat option is it just a case of changing the existing seat for a lower one. Does it also make much difference to height iover the standard?

I recently saw a black secondhand 650GS in a m/c showroom in Inverness. I don't know what had been done to it but it was really quite low, in fact significantly lower than I would need with my 29" inseam

The seats just swop over. I use the std one on the road and a low one for off roading so I can get a foot down easier. Makes quite a difference. It isn't that the seat is high but they are wide so spreads your legs ( ooer missus)

Hi there just to let you know you can/could order a factory lowered 650gs which has lowered suspension as well as a lowered seat, hope this helps

the standard gs ie not the dakar , already comes with the "low seat" the dakar seat is higher but they are interchangable .

so unless someone has fitted the dakar seat to it you already have the low seat

the factory lowered bike is something different again

I`ve just checked the sales brochure and there are three seat heights available
1. Standard seat with lowered suspension
2. Standard seat with standard suspension
3. Taller seat with standard suspension
