The latest Lowdown Show podcast was with George Gatto who owns a large HD dealership as well as RE and other Chinese brands in Pittsburgh. Some takes from it;
He spoke a lot of Harley's troubles and previous CEO Jochen Zeitz's "contribution" and did not mince words. He and all the dealers really like the new CEO Artie Starrs and he talks a lot about Artie. The younger people buying motorcycles are value conscious and most embrace the Chinese brands. Gatto Harley sells 2 used Harleys to every one new and he foresees it increasing to 3-1. Used Sportsters are bringing premiums often over retail book price. The Sportster of course is coming back for 2027 and will be made in York PA, at least the ones sold here. After the Sportster was dropped under Zeitz they auctioned off the machinery that manufactured them so are having to start over with new machinery. He also talked a lot about the business end of a motorcycle dealership.
For anyone interested it's about an hour long interview.
