I've been trying to find a better bar set-up and managed to get info from Magura on the 07 and 08 X line bars which i believe are similar shapes to the OEM fitment. I was looking for a bar with less sweep and the 08 bar is slightly straighter but also flatter, using a low seat I find bars are a little bit too high so felt lowering them might be beneficial.
I manged to acquire
a set of 08 X line bars and set about fitting them, they are approx 30mm lower and a little less swept back but not by much and i was concerned that they might not clear screen or could even hit the tank.
Bars went on without too much problem following excellent guides already posted on this site
: only small problems were that throttle cable is close to the right hand plastic side panel on full lock ( easily solved by twisiting cable holder forward) and that the right handguard hit the GSA screen I've got fitted on full left lock, I modified this by drilling an additonal hole for the handguard /mirror bracket and moving guard closer to brake master res, it just gives enough clearance.
other than that everything worked perfectly, magura bars have holes drilled for grips and come with tapped end plugs so easy to refit bar ends weights. tank bag fitted OK nothing catching.
The lower position feels better although sweep difference isn't that noticeable, i need to do a long run to see if I get the same elbow and wrist strain.
Biggest difference is in the weight of the bar, the OEM bar weighed 1.72 Kg!! X line 670 gms, quite a saving.
its easy enough for me to get bars back to the same OEM bar position by simply using bar risers so it means I can have options.
Full spec of bars below, also listed one of the Magura bars I saw on a thread elsewhere but I can't work out which bar this is from the info Magura supplied me.

Rise - 145 mm centre to centre

Spotted on another site, info from Magura US, I think dimensions may be end to end rather than centre to centre?
