Lower rear foot rest 1150GSA???

Hi is there anyone in GS land that has extended or lowered the rear foot rests? My girlfriend is over 6 feet tall with long legs and finds it cramped and uncomfortable to go any distance on the bike. I am looking to find some way of lowering the rests to make the ride better for her. Any help would be gratefully received.
