Lowering a 1996 R100GS Paris Dakar

i have a normal r100gs and only 5.7 and fit the bike fine i think u need to get use to the bike and u be fine

I don't understand whats going on here as I also have a 1200gs:blast
now this bike i had to have the low seat on it, ( 29" inside leg ) but
my 100gspd i find fine in standard set up.:nenau

Are you taking the gspd this weekend?
I'd be interested to have a sit on it and see how it fits me.

I have arthritis and consequently little strength in my shoulders and hands, and if the bike gets ever so slightly over I just cant catch it.

Even getting it up off the side stand can be a bit of a struggle if I am careless when parking.

So getting my feet flat on the ground is very important to me .

And yes, your mother was right, you will regret not looking after yourself one day.:)

That's interesting as I had a 1200GS which I sold earlier this year and I found the ride height the same. I could only just get my feet flat on level ground. The GSPD seems to have the identical ride height to the GS1200.

Heres a couple of pics of Jill's 100GS, that show it on the centre stand and of how much I lowered the forks.
Val.

Val,

Your cockpit or instrument dash looks interesting. Do you mind sharing better pics?

Cheers
