Lowering GS Adv Suspension

Lowering GS Adv Suspension. Is it posible?

Can anyone advise as how to drop the Adventure suspension and thereby lowering the ride height?
BMW have advised my dealer that this should not be done and attempts through independents have also drawn a blank.

Fit the springs from the standard 1150GS . . . will give you an inch or so.

Have the seat custom lowered by Melvyn Hunter in Coventry (another inch saved).

Fit an adjustable torque arm and lengthen it to lengthen the bike and slightly drop the height (about half an inch saved).

Swap it for a standard GS!

Nit picking maybe but I don't think my GSA handles as well as previous GS. I have the Ohlins off GS which I would like too fit but concerned about above comment. Can anyone advise whether swap is possible?

No Problem ,maybe 1/2 inch difference in ride height if that !

It's possible to fit standard shocks or Ohlins/WP from a GS and can't see a reason why BMW say it can't be done,they're the same bikes for fek's sake.
You'll only need to fit a standard GS centre stand and maybe sidestand,because thry're shorter.
I know somebody whose done it and has done 20,000 miles on his ADV,with 1150GS Ohlins on it, without a problem.

Give Hagon shocks a call they will even lower it for you, or sell
you the suspension bits to do it yourself

One of the local BMW shops here quietly swaps the standard 1150 shocker for small GSA owners.

I know of two conversions, I think the gain is about 30mm.

Don't forget that in a short space of time the suspension will sag a bit and give you about another 10-15mm more leg on the ground.
