Being short in the leg I fitted a low seat to my bike which is excellent but, I now have trouble with my right knee after 50 miles or so.

I am now considering lowering the pegs.

Has anyboby got any experience of this i.e. does it work? which are the best? etc. etc.

Thanks

Hi,
How do you get on with th low seat? is it still comfy after hours on the road?
I to am alittle short in the leg and i am sure i will drop the bike.
Have you tried the standard seat?

thanks

Nippy does the Fastway pegs which, I think, are about 3/4" lower.

No doubt someone with direct hands-on (or feets-on) experience will be along shortly ...

Dont know if they will be of any help or will fit your bike but i have a pair of one/off footpegs that will fit on an 1100gs and reduce the height by 6cm
and your more than welcome to come over to see if they fit and try them out .

Try taking the rubbers out of the foot rests - makes more of a difference than you may think and won't loose you any ground clearance.

I find the low seat fine, the standard is just that little bit too high and makes balancing on tiptoes a bit of a chore.

I've fitted Fastway pegs to my 1200 and it's made things more comfortable - lowered them by just under an inch. They were on my 80GS and I was amazed that the original pegs on the 80 are identical to the ones on my 1200! That's either progress for you or a good design which has stood the test of time!!!!!

Another vote for Fastways here. I run them on my 1200GS. Not sure what is available on your side of the pond, but Fastway make a couple of different models, the difference being the little pins that run around the perimiter of the pegs that help keep your sole form sliding off in wet or mud. On one model, they are premanently press-fit in, and on the other model, they are threaded and have an allen socket head. This leaves you free to put as many or as few on as you like. For that reason I chose the threaded version. I only put the little studs on the outboad edges of the pegs and left the others off.

There are other options out there by Verholen and touratech (I think) and suburban-machinery, for lowering 1200GS pegs, but they are far more costly.
