I was managing fairly well with the Ten as standard but sometimes the camber would catch me out at junctions etc esp with my prosthetic leg and the foot being fixed.
I have just installed a set of Metal Mule lowering links and dropped the forks a wee bit. Its made a small but confidence boosting difference. MM say you don't need to adjust the side stand but I felt the bike was a little too upright so I removed the stand and straightened it a wee bit which made the lean angle a little better

I have fitted the MM lowering links also, but have left the forks the same height

why buy a bike thats too tall for you ? FFS !

If I was able bodied it would not be too tall for me but as the ankle is fixed on my prosthetic leg it means I can't stand on the ball of my foot on that side if that makes sense. By being 15mm lower it helps a little

Sorry if that offends !!!!

Take no notice Andy, its not realy the sort of response you would expect from a MOD though.

BTW I have short legs and have the same problem. I use the MM links and lowered the front 14mm (which is effectively the same vertical drop). I also cut 20mm off the stand and the bike leans over further than stock. This makes getting on and off easier too.

Dunno if you are already on it but the guys on XT660.com are very friendly.

Oh, and I bought my Tenere because its a good bike despite the height. I also lowered the seat on my GSA, if only I had long legs, perhaps I should not have bought the GSA too ;-)

I'm interested in this bike despite the height. I'm 5' 7". While getting on and off is tricky I often find there is not enough legroom between the seat and pegs. Having a taller bike gets rid of this. I did my test on a CBF500 and found it very cramped despite my short arse stature.

I think the MM mod and tweaks are a good thing for what is a good bike. :beerjug:
