Now I am close to maybe deciding that there is a chance of possibly looking to buy a GS I need to evaluate the other bits.

I do two-up touring a fair bit, plus the odd solo run and on demo did find the ESA useful, so want that, heated grips are good too, and I would not mind a computer.

Comfort +ESA does the job, Premium package goes beyond what I need, Dynamic is of little interest, hated stability as it cut in too easily and how hard is it to use a pressure gauge once in a while? ABS would be handy, but only had it on one bike and that has not cut in once in last two years.

Anyway with that resolved I am looking at luggage and discovered vario's are much smaller than I thought (68L combined at max size).

Two other options I have seen are:

SW-motech Trax cases

or

Givi Trekker

Both offer a decent increase over BMW size (I know 68 is a bit small, because it is about the same as V35's on ZZR and we really struggle packing the bike for two people on long runs)

Anyone have any experience of these, are the any good?

Been mightily impressed with V35's on ZZR, so have warm feeling about Givi's, but also have fair bit of SW kit on the 14 and have found it excellent quality as well.

Oh, and does anyone know the Vario top box size?

Thanks

I find the Vario boxes to be sufficient for myself on longer runs even when camping, despite the Givis from my bandit 1200 being much bigger. Not sure I'd manage 2-up with the Varios though, could be tight. (I still have the Givis gathering dust in the garage if anybody wants them enough to make an offer)

mup.

Top case

Vario top case is the same size as the right pannier, it think about 35 litres extended. Hope this helps.:)
