Luggage plate for H&B rear rack 650GS

Im having a plate laser cut that should fit over the H&B rear rack for the f650 as i dont really want a top box, what i do want is sensible tie loops... will post a pic when it's done.. Main problem being is maintaining access to the rear compartment.

Interested to know if anyone else had 'made' a better rear reack for the 650..

i did draw one up in autocad a while back.

(i've removed the dimensions so it fits on the page better )

It mounts to the four bolts in the top of the oem rack, i'd have got some spacers made up out of stainless so the rack cleared the raised part at the back of the bike. I never got around to getting it made tho, i ended up getting a rear rack from a company called caribou, complete with top box and luggage strap loops

Mine would have been cheaper (work contacts rule ) but it'd have been a pain to sort out a top box for it. Sad innit

I've got a mate that's doing a big trip next year and is looking for a luggage plate for his missus' 650. Have you got more details of where you got the work done and /or could you arrange for another one to be made?
