Does anyone know if the vario luggage from a 1250gs fit the 850gs. Do you need any extra parts ie does the same top plate fit both bikes. Many thanks

Comparing part numbers on www.realoem.com between R1250GS and F850GS (you don't say what years the two bikes are) may give you an answer. I've a feeling the side boxes fit but don't take that as a reason to spend money. Looking at 2019 parts lists for the two bikes the lower mounts for the Vario sideboxes (expensive if not already fitted) are different but that's hardly a surprise. The back parts and fittings of the sideboxes appears to fit both the F850 and the R1200/1250 so it's looking good if you've a pair from a 1250 you want to repurpose.

Top box is deffo compatible - I had one box for both an 850 and a 1250. Panniers I dunno...

Yes, panniers fit as well. I had my black luggage from my F750GS on my 1250GS.
