Hi, I had no response in the wanted section so asking here.

I am after a copy of os x10.5 leopard for my old Powerbook G4.

Thanks
Gerry

I have a genuine copy I can lend you. PM me your address, and I'll try and get it posted out tomorrow :)

....but you'll have to be quick, or i won't be able to post it until next week ;)

Had a quick look at some Mac forums, and several peeps have had problems installing Leopard 10.5. One common factor seems to be the processor speed. Not sure of the specs of your setup, but it might explain some of the difficulties you have experienced. Hope you get things sorted.

Hi Gipsy, I have the 1.5 processor in the G4 and this should cope with 10.5.
If the dvd drive failsI can install via firewire from my mac mini (10.6).

Thanks
Gerry

Perhaps this may help, http://lowendmac.com/osx/leopard/unsupported.html there seems to be lots of issues with OSX on G4s and any OS after 10.5 will only run on Intel processors

Cheers Mike, I shall use the link. I upgraded to 10.4 OK last year and now find some things are not supported. e.g. Firefox4 and chrome etc.

There are many running 10.5 on 1.5 powerbooks so I will follow web advice.

I am aware 10.6 only works with intel macs as I have put this on my mac mini.

Cookie is letting me try a copy. I will post the outcome.
