Have converted to mac since latter end of last year.

Have OSx and MS Office, so am pretty happy with compatibility with the "non-mac" users. The only bugbear that I have on the applications front are as follows.

1. MS Project
2. Visio
3. Quicken or MS money

Any ideas of what OSx application that I can use to replace these from the Wintel world?

Hope you can help!

Hello fella,
1. MS Proj is indeed a bit of a gap. I think you can run it with an application called VirtualPC, which basically pretends to be a PC on a Mac! Kinda defeats the object I know, but there are too many other things I like about Macs to defect just for that. VirtualPC is pretty cheap too.
2. Visio - I use a package called Omnigraffle which does everything I needed from Visio and came free with the OSX software. Failing that get a more beefy drawing package like Illustrator or Freehand, but defo try Omniwhatsit first.
3. Quicken/MS Money - er, can't help you with that one! Get a copy of Macworld and/or Macuser and scan the ads for similar packages.
Hope your leg's getting better!

Hi Novice,

1. The new MS office (2004) recently released has a "project centre" which integrates all the elements of Office and any other file you want. It's probably not as buisness orientated as MS Project though I've never used it so cannot offer a comparason. It can be downloaded as a trial from Office 2004

2. Omnigraffle

3. There is a prog called DOSH listed on the UK Applestore site and the DOSH UK lists what looks like a fairly extensive set of money management progs and even trial versions.
Quicken is available for the Mac but, from memory, I think it was only ever a US release and not localised for the UK.

There is a good P2P prog which is OSX specific called Acquisition if you are on Broadband and for general Mac based enquiries try the mac specific Google page.

Thanks guys!

Will now go and do a bit of research on the recommendations. Will let you know how I get on.

T.
