I've always had these on my GSs and they work really well. However, when I took them off yesterday to clean them and the rocker covers and ACF50 the fasteners, I found that the inner rubber-like sleeve had left marks on both rockers covers where it had rubbed the paint off.

It's minor but irritating.

Anyone else found this?

I've sent an email to NN about the issue.

Might be a bit of a stretch but could it be corrosive cleaning products that have collected inside?

I wouldn't expect much of a response from NN, if any, but I have in the past reached out to Andrew at MA, who fully responded to my query.

I only use SDOC 100 and there are no known issues with it, as far as I know. I don't expect too much but I'll be interested to see what NN say and other forum users. Cheers.

Yes, I had the same on my 1250. I was going to take them off and sell them when I sold the bike, but left them on due to the fretting marks on the paintwork.

The ones on my old 1200 didn’t leave any marks.

Yes I had this on my 2020 GS.
I contacted Machine Art who replied that due to the heat cycles and enviromental factors that this occurs
They suggested an American cleaning product which I looked at but was quite expensive so I just left them on when I traded it in June this year
The X heads do work, had a gentle drop on the right side, no damage to the bike just some stone marks on the X Heads
I don't off road so my main concern is protecting the heads from a slow or stationary drop
I went for lighter Wunderlich bars on the new one

Suit what I wanted

Thanks for your info. I can also say that they work well on two load speed drops, one into a river I was fording. It does seem the best way forward is to just sell the bike with them on.
