Can anyone tell me the best way to travel south round Madrid on one of the main roads. I want the quickest way from the North to South of Spain Via Granada.

Thanks

when you get to Madrid take the ring road then take the road for Cordoba E5 then the E902 for Granada.

It would appear that you can take any number of ring roads round Madrid

I want to know the best {quickest} roads.

Its well signposted. As merlin1200 says, just follow the signs for Cordoba (and I think Oceana), but its definately the E5.

I just follwed Greg... it was easy.

As above...signs for Cordoba (watch out though, it comes up suddenly and you may have lots of lanes to cross)

Be carefull on the ring road as well.......one of the Plymouth Dakar vehicles we met on the way down in January was carjacked there, and I've heard of bikes been nicked by people who nudge you then thump you and ride off on the bike when you stop to exchange dettials or have a word :(

You can go through the middle of Madrid it is easy i have driven through the center in a truck as well as on my bike many times 2 lanes all the way. :thumb

Lots of new roadworks going on at the moment -

i just followed the signs, no problem.

Don't breakdown or stop near the HUGE shanty town in the south of madrid.  :D
