Gonna be some unhappy KTM and Harley punters

Last new bike I bought was a p/ex arrangement

Took my bike on the day, that collection of the new bike had been arranged

Quick swap over and sign of the HP deal and my new bike was loaded into my Van

I didn’t pay any monies (except a few hundred quid for a few fitted accessories and I did that on my CC, on the day of collecting and not beforehand) and if things had gone awry it would have been Santander’s problem under the Consumer Credit protection

Did the same with my last car purchase too, in 2022

Seems prudent to involve a 3rd party lender to cover your consumer purchase protection

Business as normal it seems, ready to take your deposits.

use a credit card if paying in advance for any goods, at a shop or online - you will have the statutory cover but most credit cards give you additional protection as part of the T&C

if you do not have a credit card and want to order online, use a platform like Amazon or ebay that gives you protection if the goods do not turn up

avoid paying for stuff over the counter in cash/debit card unless it is an item in stock and you can walk away with it

Has anyone ever made a list of indie shops that cater for Harley's?
May be good to have on the smartphone if ever problems arise on the road.

Thanks, yes it's all very sad the staff at both franchises were all good people.

I've managed to get a role at Triumph Chester starting in a few weeks so hopefully will still see some of my customers
