I'm not a great lover of GPSs, mainly cos I'd rather spend the dosh on something else but also I like maps and planning my routes and usually use a set of directions. Anyone know of anything I can use to hold directions, I once saw a gadget on a GS which fastened on the bars and held a sheet of directions which you could wind on as you progressed but I can't find anyone who knows what it was or where to get it from.
I've tried the map case with plastic suckers to fasten on the tank but it really doesn't work too well with the shape of tank. I don't use a tank bag as I don't really like them and the Baglux one is quite expensive although probably the most asthetic.

Hi JayGee

What you have described is a Road Book holder. All sorts are available, it depends on how much you want to spend, some of the Touratech one cost more than a GPS!

Try looking at http://www.oldbikeshop.com/catlist.asp?item=Accessories for a good basic and cheap one, or you can make one from a Tupperware box and a few knitting needles, as the winner of the recent Cambrian Rally did – you don’t need to spend £hundreds.

If you’re interested I have a manual one made from stainless steel with a Perspex lid that will take A5 width rolls. I am looking for about £25 for it and if you pay the postage you can have it to try and if you like it pay me, else simply send it back.

JayGee..

Much the same thoughts as you.
I saw Uncle Albert's roadbook holder and thought it looked just the job.... now on my Christmas list.
So, Santa and Touratech willing:D

This is the one I hope to get... just the small one, bolts on the handlebars.
