Anyone going, i already checked stuffed in work that weekend but looks like a good jolly.
Mass British Invasion on Garmisch.
BMW Motorrad’s International Biker Meeting has grown to become one of
the largest manufacturer-backed biker gatherings in the world. Last year
almost 30,000 fans visited the Garmisch-Partenkirchen site to enjoy the
festivities hosted by BMW Motorrad. For 2005, the Biker Meeting will be
held over the long weekend 01-03 July, and there will be a British
theme and display of bikes representing ’25 Years of GS’. BMW GB also plan
to take the famous Trans-America and Long Way Round GS Adventures for a
Motorrad Great Britain marquee to serve as a focal point for the UK
contingent.
One of the highlights organised by BMW Motorrad Great Britain is a mass
Eurotunnel crossing. An entire Eurotunnel train has been booked solely
to carry 250 BMW motorcycles with riders and passengers from Folkestone
to Calais (and return) for a mass single group crossing. This will
definitely be an impressive sight and experience!
The 250 Eurotunnel spaces will be allocated on a first come first
served basis, Rydale have made an initial reservation for spaces, but these
are limited!
At the meeting there will be trade stands, bike shows, ride outs, test
rides, open air music stages, beer tents, stunt riding demonstrations
and of course the Biker Parties on the Friday and Saturday evenings!!
It's a camping trip, so you'll need a tent etc...
The trip will leave on the Thursday 30th of June, and we will arrive
back on the Monday 4th of July 2005.
Package includes – the return Eurotunnel fare, booking details for
campsites at Mannheim and Strasbourg (but not their site fees), camping at
Garmisch, an event T-shirt and bike stickers, the programme, all the
necessary maps and route details and VAT.
Price – Only £100 per person. Please note that as this is a camping
option, no arrangements for any meals are included in the package and its
price.
It's only an extra £35 for your pillion!
