I'm upgrading the front brake caliper on my Airhead to a 4 pot caliper from an 1150. I need a piece of material to make a mounting plate for the original caliper mounting holes. I had it in mind to use a piece of Dural?? Open to other suggestions though.

I need a piece 140mmX50mmX12mm. The 12mm thickness will match the original caliper and could possibly be a little thinner (Say 10mm).

Does anybody have any material I can buy or know where I can buy a piece from?

I had his mod on my old R80GS, Rob, but you don't need a bracket. My caliper was from a K series, but they fitted the same ones to the R100/80R & Mystics, then used them on the R1100's & 1st 1150's. All you need to do is machine 5mm off the mounting faces & the caliper should then line up with the airhead disc.

Hi Paul.

I've got a caliper from the later 1150's

This is it mounted to an MDF pattern I ran up this afternoon.

Anybody else and I wouldn't take them seriously G :D

Thanks guys. I should have posted that I'm sorted now. I picked up a chunk of Dural for £4.50

The brakes superb, loads of feel and will stop on a sixpence if needed. The original brake pipe even fitted. I'll paint the bracket black and fit some shiny bolts to improve the look of it.
