Mattresses?

Both wife and I have back issues, and considering new mattress.
Are the memory foam ones worth the money?
Any recommendations for a good supplier?

We got one about 9 months ago, truth is its seems to be correcting our postures and we got different aches.

The ones we saw, and purchased, were a mattress with a 50/70mm memory foam layer on top - this was from "Dreams" but seems typical of how they are.

There so much conflicting advice now - firm matresses no longer any good, but one in between is best, .

Its difficult to make a choice even if you do spend some time in a shop.

We would probibly replace it with the same though.

had a Tempur memory foam mattress for a few years now. really like it.

We have a Kaymed and loved it when new but it gets quite deeply indented and then uncomfortable. Our first one split and was replaced under warranty but the life is short for the cost.

The foam mattress gets hot. I find them quite sweaty. They don't seem to breathe as an internal sprung mattress does. Trial an error to find the best for you but quality is directly in line with price.

we use memory foam pillows - like them so much we bring mini versions with us on holidays now.
and
a memory foam mattress topper.
If that improves matters - maybe worth spending the money on the full foam mattress then?

we had a similar thing, I have a bad back, and need firm support when I sleep
so after digging around on the net I heard great things about beds from "pocket bed spring company" I went in a bought a mattress from
them (via a 3rd party showroom) and was delighted. Now it was the most amazing mattress I had ever slept on .... until it started to sag in the middle..

so it was only 18-24 months old, so I said I would give them a ring and see whats what... turns out there is a "the pocket spring bed company LTD" in Navan who makes these beds.. no relation to the UK company who are "pocket bed spring company"..

The Irish company gives 12 months warranty.. the UK company mostly 5 year and 10 year.

so if you can get the UK based ones, they are sold here by a lot of places, they are supposed to be amazing to sleep on.. I have tested a proper one in a showroom and they were soooooooooooooooooo comfy.. not like my crappy dip in the middle one

We have just bought a King Koil pocket sprung jobbie with foam on the top.(Not memory foam) Has not been delivered yet but was very comfy in the showroom. Was top of the range so not cheap. Will let you know what its like when its delivered in six weeks!

Been to Arnotts, bought O'Dearest Clontarf, pretty firm with a foam top. Kind of a leaf-sprung jobbie, not pocket-coil. Time will tell.

This mattress has a rolls royce spec we do it for €599 for a 5' size (a mattress similar to what bin bought ,bonnell spring with memory foam and pillow top we do for €349 ) . Free delivery anywhere in ireland on these at the moment .
