This may have been mentioned before but I'm sure that others may find it interesting.
On an American forum, someone recommended removing the pipe just inside the filler cap on the tank. Supposed to allow a couple of extra litres of fuel.
Can't do it on 1100/1150's as the cap is supposed to leak on the side stand.
Anyone tried it?

If you are referring to a 1200 yes it won't add capacity as you can still top the tank with the pipe in place but it would facilitate a quicker fill up. Furthermore you can also drill two small vent holes an inch below the lip to further facilitate fill up by allowing air to escape.

Took the sleeve out when I got the bike a number of years ago, never had a leak problem (apart from when I didn't click the cap shut!
Didn't ever get round to the drilling bit but fills up quick enough for me.

HTH

Same as that.

My 1200 is filled on the side stand (I don't have the main stand on the bike). It will take near enough 35 litres from empty.
