Just picked up my 13reg from cannon motorcycles in Braintree having had its 6000 mile service.
They also replaced the two switch clusters and did the oilway modification for the clutch operation,
which seems much improved (less bang for my buck) also had the tyre monitor changed from Bar
to PSI (+other warranty niceties)
Anyway away from the preamble, one element immediately struck me -- The engine response was
very different, in as much as the throttle roll off was much slower than previously experienced, like
having an 'electronic flywheel' with the decay noticeably longer.
Now, it might be that while being serviced and hooked up to the mother ship the management system
has 'zeroed' and its relearning (if it does that) but it made me wonder if anyone else had had this
experience.
I only had the chance to ride about 20 miles.
Thanks for your thoughts.

yours sincerely........

Head out, tell me more about the clutch oil way thingy, does the mod help with the clutch clearing when selecting 1st gear.

Gazza.

Sounds like its definitely you. :D

And if it should turn out to be the case that your sensibilities are too fragile to cope with the sight presented hereto I would take all necessary actions to screen your field of vision. :aidan

My fuelling was noticeably different (better) after a recent software update which had a similar effect to the one you describe. Perhaps this is what you had done. My dealer was not able to tell me anything about the update but it was definitely that the made the difference as it was the only thing done to the bike.

Thanks gents, (Mike, hopefully you are correct)

That video short Tricky, feels much like (in an esoteric way) a visit to a dealership.

Andy, that gives me some reassurance that maybe its not a trick of the mind after all.

Gazza, with regard to the mod. - what seems to be done is to insert a metal rod into an oilway that feeds the clutch area thus restricting the flow, too much flow is apparently one contributing factor
in the problems that some of us experience.
As to first gear clunk , I'm not sure, as habit meant I selected it before starting the engine and the route was then without its need.

also had the tyre monitor changed from Bar to PSI

I asked the dealer to change Bar to PSI, the clock to 24 hour and take off the indicator self cancel as on my previous bikes and I was informed that it's not an option anymore

Thanks for the info re clutch, gonna have a chat again with my dealer.

Gazza.

Big Red

I am quite sure cancealling the indicator self cancel is still an option !
