MCN were being very nice about the bike in this weeks issue - they had my old 2010 twin cam to compare it with.

Basically the old bike is a great bike and the new one is improved all round especially the motor.

Interestingly they say that the new fancy suspension doesn't make a huge difference - I knew I was right :D

They also say the Ducati is a better adventure bike than a GS:blast:blast:blast

All they want is power and knee scraping ability, I stopped taking their opinion as worthwhile the moment I started riding bikes for myself.

opinions,,,,

well that short tester (Chad)has an unusual take on suspension,,,

most often its only one wheel on the floor or usually tipped on its ear,,

ridden back to back across tha same roads there is a huge difference in feel between settings,,let alone between bikes (old v new)...

reckon its best to ride it yourself and see...

yes I have ordered one,,, based hugely on the fact that it does differ so much and offer adjustability on the fly,,

I have an S1000RR but even so the new engine is stonking,,, ( but its no multi strada )

I met four AC riders the same day I was out and all had rides on the WC all without question were blown away by it...

reads like he writes stuff just to fill the pages, like:

there was some concern the new motor be sourounded by cooling pipes and plumbing - really! has this been a concern.

The one good thing he did write was in saying he felt the comparison was compromised because the old model GS appeared short of breath and they tyres where flatted in the middle as though it had been previously ridden by a pussy who allowed it to get coked up.

Funny how MCN is almost universally slated by all those on this site yet when it publishes something somebody wants to hear it is quoted as a ringing endorsement of that persons views............

:D

Not by me, it's a comic and always will be:thumb

Specifically, in spite of being a sister magazine to Bike, they made no reference to "instability".

That was a pleasant surprise us all :barf

I see Mr 'I'm a racer' Childs is comparing the new GS to a sportsbike -

No change there then

Why would a journalist mention instability if he had never experienced it? Are you saying he has and refuses to declare it?

Sorry, my attempt at sarcasm.....................MAccountant, who believes that Bike have an 'agenda' (what ever that may be :nenau) re the tank slapper they experianced, seems to be suggesting that the fact that Bike and MCN are owned by the same company (that owns quite a few bike mags) would seem to have some sort of bearing on the report in MCN :nenau

Got ya . We are in the territory of denial. It does not tank slap.......but three journalists reported tank slap......why would they not?

I have never met a journalist who was a team player. Or one that knew what a team player is!
