I'd like to shorten the 8' lead on the external antenna for my 2820, it uses the MCX connector - how easy are these to replace and should I buy a solder or crimp one - I may as well get the right angled one too as it will be a neater installation.

Anyone done this - how easy etc?

Thanks
Richard

Never tried it to be honest......For saving the aggravation, I bought an amplified puck instead when I mounted various GPS units in our support vehicles....far better signal reception than the (unamplified ) Garmin kit.

On Ebay or Amazon for about £15 brand new, choice of connectors and angles, new sticky pads plus you end up with your old one as a spare :thumb.
