Came across a problem today as I opened up my new phone. It is T-Mobile MDA Compact II + Co-pilot. Loaded the cd into the drive and up comes this statment that says the cd will only work on machines that are xp orientated. I have Windows 98 on my pc - and it still works perfectly well 98% of the time.
I phoned T-Mobile who politely informed me that it is completely impossible to get drivers/software for their MDA to work on a computer such as mine. I have been to the Microsoft website, but completely confused - and Win 98 seems to be past it for them now.
So any suggestions? Or am I totally stuffed.
Secondly, reason for getting the MDA was because my Palm IIIxe has died, and my mobile phone died on the way to, and in, and the way back from Africa. Palm do a software package which allows your Palm material to cross and link into the Microsoft Outlook, but my IIIxe cannot do this. The software is not there on the Palm cd.
I am aware that I can got to www.chapura.com and buy some kind of software that will make this link/crossover work, but I would have to pay about $50 for the pleasure.
Any ideas?
TIA
BTW I was not told that the MDA was only xp compatible when I agreed to get it, and I am happy with what it does on its own, and will be even more happy when I can get it to link up to the pc.
