why dont you just shorten the origional indicators instead of putting on the naff ones as supplied by touratech and jessie james .
no camera now but ill post a picture tomorrow

now that was several days/weeks ago. Where's the pic old chap?
And what did you use to chop up the indicator stalks?

Another indicator bites the dust..

Remus Revolution, Al Jesse's, K&N, Y Piece. 8,000 miles, no problem.

Last Tuesday, late for a funeral, almighty backfire on the M25. When I stop to look, the baffle is missing (it was on the original rivet), and the indicator is history :(

Anyone else managed to lose a baffle, or was I the only person in the world with a revolution who hadnt removed it already ?

meltdown!!!

Fitted my new revolution on Friday evening and used the bike all day Saturday and Sunday. After returning home Sunday the missus comented that she thought her left leg was warmer than the right - could it be the exhaust. Damn right I said after looking!!! the left rear indicator was melted all along the under side. After talking to my dealer today they are recalling all recent revolution sales as they have now had two melted left panniers and my indicator (all bikes run with cat in place and baffle tube of revolution removed)
Ride it hard;)

Bugger...since the baffle disappeared I haven't had a backfire, and my (new) indicator has been fine. I was hoping it was a baffle problem, but I guess not.
Back to the drawing board...

I think it is taking the tube out that causes the problem in june i rode to assen .

as a comparison a little over half way there i took the tube out of my remus revolution to see if there is any difference in power/speed on the motorway .

i found that it felt a bit flatter but more importantly it blew a hole in my left pannier but it only did this after i took the tube out!!

and i was going pretty much flat out before i took it out too.

lucky for me Rydales of cardiff did me a storming deal on a second-hand left box.:D

Try this..............

How about some aluminium tape for the exhaust side Pannier.Worked for me for 30,000 miles with a Sebring Titanium Can...........

Errm, that's what I did, Foolish.

Happy to report that, after a further 3k miles (and fitting a Remus Genesis), the 'fix' seems to have worked.

(Thanks to Malky for supplying 'half a WideTail' as a repair kit:thumb)

Mike:)

Mike, how did you manage to shorten the original indicators on the Jesse brackets?

I'm getting kinda desperate due to the constant demise of indicators.

Sounds to me like the new deflector thingy from Remus might well save your indicators and at £28 it might be a bit chearper too.

Good idea judge, only the chances of me giving REMUS £23 is not good. I'd rather struggle on and pay whatever it costs elsewhere than give REMUS a penny more.

David,

The Jesse Oddeseys I've got have a bracket on which you have to fit the end of the standard indicators - no shortening required...
