In this month's b.m.w club magazine on the back cover there's a advert from B.M.W .I quote BRAKING NEWS. When it comes to your safety there should never be a compromise.Genuine B.M.W parts are always a safe bet with superior product quality and 2 years worldwide manufactures warranty as standard. In addition, when having equipment fitted at your B.M.W Motorrad dealer you will also benefit from the expertise of technicians who are regularly factory trained. Now peace of mind is even more achievable with our competitive Brake Component Programme which includes great deals on Genuine B.M.W parts for the following models R1100rs/rt R 1150 Gs/Gsa/Rt K1200Lt/Gt/Rs R1200Gs/Gsa(pre 2008) R1200Rt (2005 model only) If your Bike qualifies for the programme, call your local dealer today to book a complete brake system health check. To find your local dealer Please call 0800 777 155.Does this appear to be an admission that their may be a fault whith these brakes, and they may go some way to help with the cost of repairs? I post this only for information as it does not affect me (mines a 2010 1200gsa) I Am sorry if its old news :beerjug: Cheers Pete

i think you will find that bmw have reduced the prices on some of their parts(ie front discs) in order to be more competetive.

Yeah I got one saying that discs and pads were reduced and excellent value at £450+

Just got a pair of front discs for my 07 GS £180 from the dealer and they are the modified integral bobbin type rather than the wavy washer, oblong mounting hole type that were originally fitted. The nice man assured me that they will fit.

I put a thread in the bargain forum about this a few weeks ago, I had my front discs replaced inc New pads for 309 quid all inc and thought that this was a good deal, as genuine parts were used,
Other people just went on about the fact that you could have saved a little over a hundred quid by fitting cheaper parts and doing it yourself.
I couldn't be bothered and am very happy with the work carried out and price, they even gave my bike a free valet while it was in. :D

After numerous problems with warped front discs ('05 GS) I bit the bullet and fitted these.

No more warped discs (so far!) and a 2 year warranty on them if they do.

yeah.mine was using a bit of oil. I found it was the filler cap not done up, fortunately I caught it time. Then there was various screws missing and one of the frame bolts right out...apart from that....

Good job they're qualified eh?I shouldn't touch it all because I don't have the relevant piece of paper

Having all your servicing done by a BMW dealer (not a previously-a BMW dealer 'cos that doesn't count) may help when you are pleading for a tiny bit off the cost of a new ABS unit when yours packs up.

Then there's the dealers who:

Leave one of the rear caliper bolts done up finger-loose, not even finger tight.

Or the other dealer who failed to put back the rubber o-ring on the oil filler.

Or the other dealer who left all the cut Ty-wraps in situ.

It's the little things...
