I was going to tag this on the end of the metal mule exhaust thread a few posts down, but its a closed thread now!

Anyway....what does the metal mule exhaust sound like? much better than the original?? And is it a lot lighter than the stock can? Any power increase (i mean noticeable....i think it says on MM website it removes the flat spot midrange)

Thanks in advance

I can't say on the 1200 but on the 1150 I can tell you that:

1) It sounds much better than the original, but not as noisy as a Remus

2) It's a lot lighter than the stock can (but then so is an anvil!)

3) Power increase - it's hard to say, I do tend to ride it harder but I think that's a combination of factors.

I like mine a lot, as I say that's all for the 1150

Had one fitted before collecting my bike.

1) It has a deeper tone but is not noisy, have been told it does sound
better than standard.

2) Yes.

3) Fitted before I used the bike so can't comment on flat spot.

Posted pic's on http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72327
but responce was pic's don't appear let me know if you can see them
please.

ride survey

I have the MM scorpion silencer on my 1200 as part of the pannier set up.
According to the ride test a couple of months back the Scorpion can outperforms everything else..........................
The sound is much improved, and weight reduced. If I am doing long motorway runs (which I hate) I replace the removable baffle to quieten the bike down. Otherwise I run with the baflle out.............it sounds superb (so everyone tells me) and has lovely popping on the over run.
For me the whole set up is a 'look no further'................... have now done about 4k miles with this set up.

flat spot

Overall the bike seems to have more grunt with the baffle removed, but you pay with extra fuel condumption. I have not been aware of any flat spot.........the bike pulls like a train !! :D

As long as it's easier to mount than the MM pannier frames :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Quicker !!

Absolutely the MM pannier frames and rear rack took 10 minutes to fit, the silencer took 11 minutes :D
It did take 12 min's and 15 secs to fit the pannier frames and rear rack to the G/S.......................... of course it should take less than a minute I suppose :thumb
