Has anyone fitted metal mule 38 or 45 litre panniers to their 1150 adventure while retaining a Remus tail pipe? Can they be fitted with equal spacing on the bike or do you have to fit one of each size. The metal mule tail pipe they offer looks the same oval shape as the remus or does it fit even closer to the wheel?

Im still looking at different alloy panniers that can be easily removed but also have neat mounting frames. I dont want them to wide.

any pics would be great :thumb

Thanks

Here's one with MM's plus the Remus csn

I won't go in to how "easy" it was to mount the frames :spitfire

Thanks Trev, Now it looks like you had the problem I want to avoid. Is the left pannier further out than the right side? Did you have to make some sort of spacer for the left pannier frame to clear the remus pipe?

Thanks again

1) Left pannier is wider as I opted for 2x45L instead of a 1x45 and 1x38L - as I go pretty slow anyway when I'm fully loaded it really doesn't make a big difference - I mean would you wanna filter with all this on?

2) I had to wedge the can with a load of spacers on the foot-rest hanger to give me enough clearance - there seemed to be a fair bit of movement so I eventually got it sorted. It's not pretty but it works and after all the stress from trying to install the brackets I'd already given up on trying to come up with a pristine job. If you go down this road don't expct to have them all mounted easily or quickly. :(
