Very impressed with the Metal Mule system at the NEC. Was warned that the pannier would not open if the Givi Maxima top case is used due to the way that the pannier lids open. Potentially not too much of a problem for us as we'd only be using the Givi to hold the helmets when we go off and do the touristy thing. When we do need access to the panniers the Givi will be empty so no big deal to remove. Does anyone else use this combination?

How about their exhaust system - anyone had experience of that? I prefer the 'stealth' sound of the quieter exhausts so a bit concerned if about to swap it for something potentially louder.

Had a look inside the Metal Mule top box at the show, and I'm assuming that the panniers would be the same.... there were loads of nuts and screw ends poking out into the inside. I can't imagine that they would be very 'user-friendly' to hands, luggage or inner bags.
Just my opinion... no axes to grind... I'll get my coat :nenau

Abertawe? Isn't that near Swansea?
It is Swansea...

Vikings invaded the area around Gower, who built a wooden stronghold on the banks of the Tawe estuary. Swansea's English name is derived from this era in its history, where it first appears as "Sweynesse" in a 12th century charter. This name is believed to have originated from Sweyne Forkbeard (Svend Tveskæg) - a 10th century Viking King who ruled Denmark from 986-1014AD. Swansea's Welsh name, "Abertawe" literally translates as, "at the mouth of the Tawe.
